Field Sketching: An Appropriate Skill for Upper Primary Children?
Keith Bartlett

Field sketching is a skill widely used in traditional geography fieldwork, but assumed to be a skill for development with secondary age pupils. This study of the development of field sketching skills in
upper primary pupils contradicts this perspective and models the key sequences required for teaching field sketching and an appropriate model for assessing outcomes.
